I am a GP with over 25 years' experience fully accredited with the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine (BSLM). I have now, in the last 5 years, lived and breathed all things related to Lifestyle Medicine and I maintain my membership with them to ensure I keep up to date with the latest evidence in this field.

I became passionate about lifestyle medicine after realising the current medical model of reacting to disease and treating only with medications was failing most patients. Only by looking at the root cause can we make a real difference to how we feel and how we age.

As your clinician, I can manage all medical issues, first ruling out any underlying medical problems, then, using key tools, I offer precision medicine and tailored patient care.   This is achieved by thorough health and metabolic assessments, tracking of biomarkers, microbiome monitoring, use of wearable devices, and using coaching and motivational psychology.

Lifestyle medicine encourages behaviour change and empowers you to take control of your health. It’s the future of preventative medicine, and it can help you achieve optimal health. It’s the foundation of health that often gets skipped in consultations.

Our modern lifestyle can trigger and speed up inflammation, which is often the root cause of many chronic diseases. By making simple lifestyle changes, we can greatly reduce the risk of developing chronic illnesses and improve our overall health, leading to a longer and healthier life.

Being a doctor, I can manage complex medical issues, with the reassurance for patients of being a strictly regulated professional, with guaranteed standards of care.  I can link with or refer to other allied professionals to support an individual on their journey to greater health, combining nutrition, fitness and psychological approaches to empower the patient, who remains at the centre of this approach.

I can also refer you to a specialist if more investigations are required, for example, cardiac calcium score, mammography, DEXA scan, gynaecology, USS/MRI/endoscopy.
