The future of health is lifestyle medicine.

What does the initial consultation look like?

This would typically cover:

  • Full exploration of your health concerns and your medical history.  Personalised medicine requires a deeper dive into understanding someone’s life fully, so this will be an extended session.

  • The key pillars of wellbeing are considered: sleep, diet, movement, relationships, stress reduction and minimising harmful substances and behaviours.

  • The principles of successful behaviour change and goal setting through Motivational Psychology are utilised.

  • The use of biometric data where helpful.  This might include CGM (continuous glucose monitoring), heart rate variability monitoring, sleep quality and blood/microbiome testing.

  • Agreeing on a wellbeing plan and support required to achieve it.

  • Discuss the next steps and make follow up arrangements.

  • A comprehensive, personalised plan of actionable changes and blood result interpretation will be sent following your appointment.

  • Follow up arrangements. This is decided by you. Generally advised at 6-12 weeks after changes have been made, and any necessary repeat tests performed, to review your response to these changes and time to discuss the next steps planned.

How do the appointments work?

  • Prior to your appointment, you will receive a questionnaire on your health and lifestyle habits.

  • Full assessment of this information, considering all major body systems, medical history, family history, and current medications, will inform appropriate examination and further tests for your age, gender, and risk profile.

  • A follow-up meeting will go over the results, offer guidance, and answer questions. If preferred, this follow-up appointment can be virtual.

  • You will receive a detailed report for your records after each appointment. This will include conclusions, recommended action plan and results of any tests.

Am I the right practitioner for you?

Do any of the following statements relate to how you feel about your health and wellbeing - if so then we are the right lifestyle medicine practitioner to see.

  • Have ongoing symptoms but told all tests are normal

  • Seen various specialists, but no one is piecing your symptoms together

  • Tried medications, and they just increase your symptoms due to side effects

  • Taken supplements but not sure if they’re helping or worth it.

  • Keen to stay in control of your health & identify health risks but don’t know where to start

  • Reassurance and advice to pick up early signs of disease or areas of concern

  • Worried about family history of illness, for example dementia, becoming your reality.

  • Explore how your lifestyle impacts your health

  • You need someone to look at you the patient, the person as a whole and the impact your life has on you, not just assessing one thing at a time.

  • Have you been recently diagnosed with a chronic condition such as diabetes, pre-diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol and want to take control of your health
